Caregiver support groups to meet

PLATTSBURGH — A discussion group for all unpaid caregivers is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the United Way Building, 45 Tom Miller Road.

Another group with a short presentation about how to prevent falls will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Emmaus Room at St. Peter’s Church.

In addition, a telephone support group is now offered from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16. Caregivers may call 565-4543 or 565-4625 for more information.

The groups, offered by the Caregiver Resource Center/Respite Program, are a component of Behavioral Health Services North. They are open to anyone providing unpaid care to an aging family member or friend. New caregivers, friends and family are welcome. No appointment necessary.
