Saranac Lake story time plans focus on dental health

SARANAC LAKE — In recognition of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Suzanne Snizek, Saranac Lake Central School District dental hygienist, will appear as the tooth fairy at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Children’s Room of the Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main St.

She will read stories and encourage children to think about caring for their teeth. She will also be available to answer questions parents may have about their children’s dental health.

The event is open to all.

Impeerium sponsoring lunch event Thursday

PLATTSBURGH — The Impeerium Peer Network is sponsoring a community outing to Pizza Hut on Route 3 at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28.

Seating is limited to the first 20 people who sign up. A $1 donation is required to guarantee your seat, but Impeerium picks up the rest of the tab.

PSU students organizing Red Cross benefit

PLATTSBURGH — Student groups at SUNY Plattsburgh will host Friendly’s Fun Day on Thursday, Feb. 28, to benefit the American Red Cross and victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The fundraiser will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Friendly’s restaurant, located at 81 Centre Drive in Plattsburgh.

Those who wish to participate may visit the college’s Center for Fraternity/Sorority Life, located in room 204 of the Angell College Center, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to pick up a flyer. Individuals who dine at Friendly’s on the day of the event and present the flyer will have 20 percent of their total bill donated to the Red Cross.
