---- — Special service for veterans Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — Trinity Episcopal Church, 18 Trinity Place is hosting a Remembrance Day service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.

The service includes the Holy Eucharist in remembrance to those who have served and are serving our country. All are welcome.

Cookie walk,more offered at holiday bazaar

TICONDEROGA — The Episcopal Church of the Cross, 129 Champlain Ave., will host its annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

The bazaar features holiday crafts and decorations, collectables, jewelry, children’s toys and games, books, a white elephant sale and the famous cookie walk with dozens of varieties of homemade cookies. There will also be raffles for a turkey basket, which includes a turkey and all the fixings for a holiday dinner, and a lottery tree.

Lunch items, served till 1 p.m., include homemade soups, chili, michigans and hot dogs, potato salad, chips and assorted desserts and beverages.

To make a donation, contact Kim Barber at 585-9073. No clothing or furniture will be accepted. Proceeds benefit local outreach programs.

Temple Beth Israel hosting yard sale

PLATTSBURGH — Temple Beth Israel will hold its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 Bowman St.

Items for all ages will be available, including housewares, tools, holiday items, books, toys, clothes and more.

Collection week starts Monday for shoe-box gifts

PLATTSBURGH — National collection week for Operation Christmas Child runs from Monday, Nov. 12, to Monday, Nov. 19.

Volunteers are invited to pack shoe boxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for needy children overseas. They boxes can be dropped off at the First Assembly of God, 164 Prospect Ave., Plattsburgh from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12 through 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17, 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19.

The year-round project of international relief aid organization Samaritan’s Purse is headed by the Rev. Franklin Graham. Anyone can drop off a packed shoe box at the Plattsburgh collection site. Then, using whatever means necessary — trucks, trains, boats, bikes and even elephants — the shoe-box gifts will be hand-delivered to hurting children in 100 countries around the world.

Church hosting Craft Sale, luncheon

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro United Methodist Church, 3731 Main St. is hosting its 26th-annual Holiday Craft Sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Items for sale include homemade candy, recycled Christmas items, baked goods, new craft items, gently used sweaters, Grandma’s Attic Treasures, books and more.

The annual Harvest Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Offerings include homemade soups, breads, desserts and a beverage for $5.

Women’s group collecting winter clothing

BRAINARDSVILLE — The Women of the Brainardsville United Methodist Church is sponsoring its annual Mitten Tree Project.

Donations of new hats, mittens, scarves, gloves and money are greatly appreciated. The items will be given to area children and adults, and money received will be used to supply extra hats, mittens and other necessary needs.

Turkey Raffle coming up in West Chazy

WEST CHAZY — The Men’s Club of St. Joseph’s Church is holding its annual Turkey Raffle at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph’s Parish Center.

Lots of prizes will be offered, as well as a free buffet. All are welcome.

Church pie sale planned

LONG LAKE — The women of the Methodist Church of Long Lake are holding a special holiday pie sale from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Long Lake Town Hall.

A variety of flavors as well as the traditional holiday ones will be offered, all baked for you by women of the church.
