Dannemora schedules baseball/softball signups

DANNEMORA — The Village of Dannemora Parks and Recreation Commission will be holding baseball and softball signups for boys and girls teams ages 4 to 16 at the Community Center on Emmons Street from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 18.

Register is also available online at A copy of the child’s birth certificate (if you have not provided one for a previous sport) is required.

Child Safety Seat Check set for April 12

PLATTSBURGH — Clinton County Traffic Safety is sponsoring a Child Safety Seat Check from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Morrisonville EMS Building, 21 Banker Road, Morrisonville.

Mountain Lake PBS launches Career Crosswalks Initiative

PLATTSBURGH — Mountain Lake PBS is launching a new initiative called Career Crosswalks aimed at helping students to see the relevance of their education to potential careers.

Mountain Lake PBS will produce a special edition of Mountain Lake Journal, airing at 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, designed to raise awareness of the Career and Technical Education opportunities that are available to local students.

Panelists on the Career Crosswalks Forum include: Michele Armani, director of Special Programs, North Country Workforce Investment Board; Paul DeDominicas, director of Community Workforce Development, Clinton Community College; Paul Grasso, president and CEO, The Development Corp.; John Jablonski, president, Clinton Community College; and James McCartney, director, CV-TEC.

The special edition of Mountain Lake Journal repeats at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and 5:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday, April 13.

Mall to host ‘Eggs-straordinary Easter Party’

PLATTSBURGH — The second-annual “Eggs-straordinary Easter Party” will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Center Court of the Champlain Centre.

The Champlain Valley Transportation Museum’s Kid Station will be there providing crafts for the children, along with games, face painting, and more.

The Easter Bunny photo experience will be available through April 19.

Plattsburgh Public Library plans board-game day

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Public Library will host a board-game day from noon to 5 p.m. April 5 in celebration of International Tabletop Day.

Come and play some challenging board games like Smallworld as well as traditional board games.
