Halloween filmfest offers fun in AuSable Forks

AUSABLE FORKS — The Spooktacular at the Hollywood Theatre, set for Saturday, will give fright-film buffs and Halloween fans their fill and raise money for the AuSable Forks Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization. 

Films will run from 11:15 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the theater located at 1 Main St./14232 Route 9N in AuSable Forks, with admission of $3 per person for one film; $10 for an all-day pass.

Children ages 2 and younger get in free. It is recommended that an adult accompany ages 10 and younger. Older children may be present without parental guidance; however, there are movies with PG, PG 13 and R ratings.

“Know your parental comfort level,” a news release said.

Here’s the schedule: 11:15 a.m., “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” and “Monsters vs Aliens Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space”; noon, “Mickey’s House of Villains” and “Monster High: 13 Wishes”; 1:30 p.m., Monsters Inc.” and “Spooky Buddies”; 3:15 p.m. “Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Halloween Town”; 4:45 p.m., “Hotel Transylvania” and Addams Family”; 6:30 p.m. “Coraline” and “Gremlins”; 8:30 p.m. “Poltergeist” and “The Shining.” 

Movie-goers are invited to bring a non-perishable item for M&M Diner holiday food drive, especially holiday-type foods such as stuffing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, yams, potatoes and canned vegetables.

Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes.
