Plattsburgh mayoral hopefuls at forum tonight

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Mayoral Forum, sponsored by the Plattsburgh Area League of Women Voters, takes place at 6:30 tonight in Krinovitz Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh Campus.

Candidates in the City of Plattsburgh mayoral race will answer questions posed by Mountain Lake Public Broadcasting’s Thom Hallock, as moderator, with panelists Pat Bradley of WAMC North Country Public Radio and Press-Republican Staff Writer Joe LoTemplio.

The League of Women Voters, a news release said, “is strictly nonpartisan; it neither supports nor opposes candidates for office at any level of government.”

Keeseville dissolution plan up for vote today

KEESEVILLE — The fate of the Village of Keeseville turns on the tally from today’s public vote, set for noon to 9 p.m. in the Village Hall.

The Dissolution Plan approved by the Village Board is up for vote. If it passes, the municipal government will cease to exist on Dec. 31, 2014. If it fails, the village will continue to exist.

The public had voted in January in favor of dissolution. A petition filed with the Village Board forced the public referendum on the Dissolution Plan.

The Press-Republican will post the results online as soon as they are available tonight.
