City plans public hearing, meeting for tonight

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will hold a public hearing at 5 p.m. today in Council Chambers, City Hall, followed by its regular meeting.

The city will hear comments about amending City Code 206.7 to read: “This chapter may be enforced by any police officer, peace officer or any code inspector employed in the office of the Building Inspector of the City of Plattsburgh.”

The agenda for the Common Council meeting includes designating lead-agency status for the Water Pollution Control Plant mitigation project and considering a proposal from B&L for Akey Landfill post-closure monitoring.

The meeting is open to the public.

Chateaugay Central School Board meeting set

CHATEAUGAY — Chateaugay Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. today.

The board expects to vote to enter executive session to appoint a school nurse and a cleaning contract and accept a letter of resignation.

School Board meetings are open to the public.

Village of Champlain meets today

CHAMPLAIN — The Village of Champlain will hold a special meeting at 4:45 p.m. today at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9 to discuss 2013 insurance policies/coverage and any other business that may come before the board. 

The session is open to the public.
