Muscle pain, joint pain, fibromyalgia focus of CVPH Community Lecture

PLATTSBURGH — “Muscle Pain, Joint Pain and Fibromyalgia: What is What?” is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the West Side Ballroom, 253 New York Road.

The free CVPH Community Lecture will feature Dr. Marzouq Qubti, board certified rheumatologist, and CVPH Rheumatology Services.

Qubti will discuss fibromyalgia, a syndrome that affects more than 12 million Americans, according to a press release, and can often be misdiagnosed as a variety of other serious ailments. He will review how physicians pinpoint a fibromyalgia diagnosis and offer the best-practice treatment regimens, which feature a combination of exercise, behavioral modification and medications to treat symptoms.

Blood drive at CV-TEC open house

MINEVILLE — A blood drive will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, as part of CV-TEC of Mineville’s open house, set for 6 to 8 p.m. that night.
