Westport School Board to discuss budget, veterans’ exemption

WESTPORT — The Westport Central School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the library.

Agenda items include a budget discussion, the veterans’ exemption, retirements and any other business that comes before the board.

All board meetings are open to the public.

Beekmantown Central sets budget presentations

BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown Central School will present its proposed 2014-15 budget to the public at three upcoming sessions.

They are set for 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the main-campus auditorium; 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the library at Cumberland Head Elementary School; and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, at the American Legion on Quarry Road in Plattsburgh, downstairs.

The public is encouraged to attend.

SLCS organization hosting shoe-drive fundraiser

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Central School Parent Faculty Organization in collaboration with Funds2Orgs is hosting a shoe drive to raise money for the High School and Shoes for Humanity.

Gently worn shoes of all types will be collected March 31 through April 5 at Saranac Lake High School. Bins will be placed outside of the front doors from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Renovations to KeesevilleFire Stationunder review

KEESEVILLE — The Ausable-Chesterfield-Keeseville Fire District has established a Building Committee that will meet on a regular basis to discuss possible renovations to the Keeseville Fire Station.

Sessions will take place at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month: April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8 and Aug. 12 at the Fire Station.  

All meetings are open to the general public.
