Family Fare: March 8, 2014

BHSN’s Kids’ Carnivale today

PLATTSBURGH — Behavioral Health Services North’s third-annual Mardi Gras North Kids’ Carnivale, a free community-oriented kids and family event, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the City Rec Center on the U.S. Oval in Plattsburgh.

Many community partners will have activities at their tables for the children while parents can learn about the myriad of wellness services and youth programs in our North Country, a press release states.

The kids’ parade around the City Rec Center will start at 3 and 4:30 p.m. when the young ones will sport their personalized masks for all to see. Also included will be Docatte Contact Karate, Guibord’s School of Ballet and PiYo movement throughout the afternoon, the Rec Center’s Bouncy House, balloon animals, face painting and tie-dye socks.

There will free popcorn and water.

Imagination Ball today at Imaginarium

PLATTSBURGH — The Imaginarium Children’s Museum will host the annual Imagination Ball from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up as their favorite prince, princess or superhero. The Imaginarium will also have princesses and superheroes on hand. Visitors can make tiaras and superhero masks, test their limits with a superhero workout and pamper their princess with an up-do. Also included will be face painting, Subway sandwiches, fresh fruit and vegetables and a cupcake treat.

Mike Randall and The Big Blue Trunk from Milton, Vt., will bring interactive games and entertainment for children of all ages.

Tickets are $10 each and available for purchase at the Imaginarium, online or at Coiffure Avant Garde in downtown Plattsburgh.

Spring ‘Meet the Cardinals’ rescheduled

PLATTSBURGH — The “Meet the Cardinals” spring event at Champlain Centre mall has been rescheduled for 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in front of Best Buy and Target.
