Adirondack Carousel celebrates birthday today

SARANAC LAKE — The Adirondack Carousel will celebrate its first birthday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at its 2 Depot St. location.

The day will include free rides from 10 a.m. to noon, birthday cake at noon, and will feature Merri-loons the clown. The “Adirondack Kids” book series authors will also attend to debut their newest book, “The Carousel Case, the Bicycle Race, and the Blackfly Bad Guy,” which is set at the Adirondack Carousel and the surrounding area.

‘Dork Day’ celebration today at Lake Placid bookstore

LAKE PLACID — The Bookstore Plus, 2491 Main St., is hosting “Dork Day” from 3 to 4 p.m. today. 

In celebration of the new book “Dork Diaries #6: Tales from a Not-So-Happy Heartbreaker,” attendees will design dresses.
