Food Court restaurant plans renovations
PLATTSBURGH — Flaming Wok, a franchised Chinese restaurant located in the Champlain Centre Food Court, will be closing on Friday, Feb. 28.
The operators will be reopening their business in the mall as China Café.
“The restaurant will undergo an attractive remodel and feature a contemporary look,” Mall Marketing Director Courtney Coryea said in a news release. “China Café plans to reopen within the next month and will be offering the same great combination of Chinese cuisine at outstanding prices that has enabled the Chan family to build one of the most loyal followings in the North Country.”
Parades planned to honor local Olympians
LAKE PLACID (AP) — Lake Placid and Saranac Lake are planning parades to honor local Olympic athletes after they return home.
Kelly Morgan of the Women’s Civic Chamber says she’s been reaching out to the athletes and figures the Saranac Lake festivities will be at the end of March.
Some of the athletes are attending World Cup events in Norway, while others have been invited to visit the White House.
Lake Placid Mayor Craig Randall also says it’s too early to set a concrete date for the Olympic village’s event.
