Middle and High School Art Exhibition set

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts will host its annual Middle and High School Art Exhibition at the Arts Center on Feb. 28.

Schools from across the Tri-County region will be participating. The gallery doors open at 5 p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Auditions planned at Pendragon Theatre March 2

SARANAC LAKE — Pendragon Theatre is seeking actors for its production of the winning scripts of the first-annual Young Playwrights’ Festival.

Seventh-grade, eighth-grade and high-school playwrights across the Adirondack Park have been asked to submit original one-act plays and musicals to be adjudicated by a panel of judges for a chance to be presented on a professional stage.

Auditions for the winning productions will be held at Pendragon Theatre, 15 Brandy Brook Ave, Saranac Lake at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2.

The rehearsal process will span from March 8 to April 4, culminating in a performance at 7 p.m. April 5.

Actors should expect to read sides, which will be provided at the theatre.

Mountain Lake hosting sneak preview

PLATTSBURGH — Mountain Lake PBS will host a gathering and sneak preview of the new season of “Roadside Adventures with Derek Muirden.”

Fans and viewers are invited to join in the celebration at the Ground Round on Smithfield Boulevard from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.

Guests will get a sneak preview of the complete first episode of the new season of “Roadside Adventures” and see a highlight reel from upcoming episodes. Light fare will be provided.

The first episode gives viewers an all-access look at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh. Future episodes will discover the summer season at Whiteface Mountain, explore the Adirondack Museum’s Antique Show and visit with Adirondack environmental artist Sally Smith.
