ECHO to display 1977 ‘Champ’ photo

BURLINGTON, Vt. — The original 1977 Sandra Mansi “Champ” photo will be on display for the public for the first time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, through Sunday, March 2, at the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center.

To complement the photo, ECHO will screen, at 2 p.m. daily, the exclusive film “Champ” where Sandra Mansi talks about the day she saw Champ and how her life changed since that day.

The public presentation of the photo is all part of an annual two-week celebration at ECHO called ChampFEST. During these two weeks, guests learn about Champ, about the mystery of the lake creature and also the science of what it would take for Lake Champlain to sustain a creature like Champ.
