Hospice to hold memorial service

PORT HENRY — At 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care will hold a special memorial service to honor the memory of those they have served who died between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2012.

Each person is remembered by name, and loved ones are invited to light a candle in their memory. A special invitation is also extended to other members of the community who have suffered a loss.

The service will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 72 S. Main St., Port Henry.

Zumba Dance Party to benefit Cancer Society

PLATTSBURGH — A “Zumba Dance Party in Purple” to benefit the 2013 Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the OLVA gym, 4919 S. Catherine St.

Attendees should come dressed in their best display of purple. A prize will be given for the best show of purple power.

Zumba instructors are Jessica Coupal and Carrie Trombley; host is the Motivators.

A donation of $7 is requested at the door.
