Bishop’s Fund Appeal reaches goal

OGDENSBURG — The 2012 Bishop’s Fund Appeal has reached its goal of $1,250,000.

More than 10,400 households participated in this year’s fund drive. According to a press release, the money will assist families facing crises; offer education to future priests, deacons and lay leaders; and build foundations for young people’s lives through the ministries and programs offered by the Diocese of Ogdensburg.

As of June 12, the total received in cash and pledges was $1,252,682. Included in the total is $21,122 in outstanding pledges. The Bishop’s Fund Office will continue to receive payments on the 2012 pledges until the close of the fiscal year on Sunday, June 30. Donations can be sent to: Bishop’s Fund Appeal, P.O. Ham dinner planned at Crown Point UMC

CROWN POINT — The Crown Point United Methodist Church is holding a ham dinner on Friday, June 28, at its 1682 Creek Road location.

The menu includes baked ham, scalloped potatoes, baby carrots, orange/pineapple jello salad, rolls, dessert and a beverage.

Take-outs start at 4:30 p.m., and the sit-down dinner is at 5.

The cost is $9 for adults, $5 for ages under 12 and free for ages under 5.
