Guest to speak at UU Fellowship Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — A visiting minister will share a message called “Trailing Beauty and Forgotten Joy” at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 17, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4 Palmer St.

The Rev. Janet Shorthall, an ordained UU minister, is the guest speaker at the worship service. Shorthall directs a student peer-counseling program at Cornell University.

Event planned benefits Interfaith Food Shelf

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Interfaith Council is sponsoring “Come in From the Cold,” an afternoon of entertainment, food and games, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Elks Lodge 621 on Cumberland Avenue.

There is no admission for the event, but donations of cash or non-perishable food items to support the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf are requested and greatly appreciated.

Entertainment includes performances by Tim Hartnett, Masouda Dance Ensemble, Guibord’s School of Dance, Sweet Adelines, Zumba, Rachelle Armstrong & Friends, Center Stage Dance and more. Children’s games are also planned.

Westport church hosting lasagna dinner

WESTPORT — The Westport Federated Church, 7 Baybreeze Lane, is holding a lasagna dinner on Thursday, March 21.

Serving starts at 4:30 p.m., with takeouts available.

The cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger.
