---- — ELCS Board meeting scheduled

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the conference room.

The board is expected to go into executive session at the start of the meeting to discuss negotiations and expects to resume public session at 7 p.m. 

Agenda items included a public hearing on the proposed Code of Conduct, recognizing student and staff achievements, appointments, policy revisions and a calendar of public reports for 2013-14.

The meeting is open to the public.

Contract awarded for work at Malone prison

ALBANY — The New York State Office of General Services has awarded contracts for work at Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Malone.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following review and approval by the State Comptroller’s Office.

A pulmbing contract went to DiGesare Mechanical Inc. of Schenectady to replace hot-water lines at the main building and annexes 4, 8, 11, 12, 15, 33 and 34.

The contract is for the low bid of $399,399.

Lake Placid School Board meets Tuesday

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the board conference room at the Administrative Services Center, 50 Cummings Road.

Agenda items include a summer law conference and the athletic policy.

The meeting is open to the public.

Beekmantown to appoint superintendent

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Monday in the Middle/High School Library.

Agenda items include committee reports and the appointment of the superintendent of schools. 

The meeting is open to all.
