Christian performer at Turnpike Wesleyan Church on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — Brent Vernon, Christian singer, songwriter and ventriloquist will perform at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Turnpike Wesleyan Church, 2224 Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh. All are welcome; admission is free.


Church hosting free fellowship dinner 

TICONDEROGA — The next free community fellowship dinner at the First United Methodist Church is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at its 1045 Wicker St. location.

All are welcome to enjoy chicken cacciatore and pasta, with salad and bread. Ice cream and beverages will also be served. High chairs, booster seats and a child-friendly menu will also be available, as will take-outs.


Christian Motorcyclists holding open membership drive

PLATTSBURGH — The Christian Motorcyclists Association “Adirondacks’ Forgiven” Chapter 1172 will have an informational table and open membership drive from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at McSweeny’s Red Hots Restaurant, 600 Route 3. 

The group is a servant-minded interdenominational motorcycle ministry with a message of hope and love through Jesus Christ.

Those who enjoy riding and fellowship with other Christians and who would like to be equipped to minister to the motorcycling community are invited to meet some of the group’s local members and learn about the Plattsburgh chapter.

The group is involved in outreach ministries to prisons, senior-care facilities, CMA youth groups (ages 12 to 18), music, Bible studies and fellowship meetings. All are welcome. Owning or riding a motorcycle is not a requirement to be part of the Motorcycle Association.
