---- — New traffic light in place in Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH — A new traffic light hangs over the intersection of Salmon River Road and Military Turnpike that will replace the flashing signal and stop signs that now control the intersection.
For now, the new light is set to flash mode with the stop signs still in place, according to the Clinton County Highway Department.
Tuesday, Nov. 20, the traffic light will be fully activated, with its red, yellow and green lights controlling traffic on all approaches to the intersection.
“Motorists accustomed to traveling through this intersection are urged to be alert to the new signalized intersection and be prepared to stop as necessary,” Highway Superintendent Al Rascoe said in a press release.
Applicants sought for City Planning Board
PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh seeks candidates to serve on the City Planning Board.
Interested city residents may apply by submittng a letter of interest and/or resume to the Engineering and Planning Department at 41 City Hall Place, Plattsburgh, N.Y., 12901 by Nov. 30.
Questions may be directed to the Engineering and Planning Department at 563-7730, the mayor at 563-7701 or any council member.
Letters should state the reasons why you would like to serve on the Planning Board and any background information that would be helpful in considering your application.
AuSable school pool open for public swim
CLINTONVILLE — The public can swim in the pool at AuSable Valley Central School from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays Dec. 2 through March 3, except for Dec. 26 and 30.
There will be limited locker facilities available Jan. 9 and 16 due to sports events.
If there is no school or if all after-school activities are canceled, there won’t be open swim either.
Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
Beekmantown offices to close Nov. 22 and 23
BEEKMANTOWN — The Town of Beekmantown Town Hall offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and also the following day, Friday, Nov. 23.
