AuSable church putting on women’s retreat

AuSABLE FORKS — St. James’ Episcopal Church is hosting a women’s retreat from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at its 14126 Route 9N location.

The annual event aims to give women of the community a day of rest, rejuvenation and renewal of the joy in the season of Advent and Christmas.

The event is free and open to all.

Memory Tree to honor loved ones

LYON MOUNTAIN — Holy Family Council 7215 Knights of Columbus are sponsoring the annual Memory Tree for the Christmas season.

Cards may be purchased for $1 in memory of loved ones. The names should be mailed to Robert Pageau, P.O. Box 106, Lyon Mountain, NY 12952.

A blessing of the tree will take place at the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Community invited to Thanksgiving service on Sunday

SARANAC LAKE — The Ecumenical Clergy of Saranac Lake is putting on a Community Thanksgiving Worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the First Presbyterian Church, 57 Church St.

Clergy from local faith communities will lead worship. All are welcome to attend. Attendees should bring a canned good or offering money to benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the church.

House of Prayer hosting holiday dinner Nov. 22

ELLENBURG CENTER — Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer at 7270 Star Road, Route 190, is holding a Thanksgiving dinner at noon Thursday, Nov. 22.

Holiday bazaar at temple Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — Temple Beth Israel is having a holiday bazaar from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at 1 Bowman St.

Many local artists will be featured with their wares of jewelry, knitted items, photography, ceramics, quilts, mittens, green bags, stained glass and more. Hundreds of new Scholastic books as well as “Touch the Art” books by Amy Guglielmo will also be for sale.

All are welcome.
