Craft show this week in Vermont
BURLINGTON — The Vermont Hand Crafters' annual Fine Craft & Art Show at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Burlington is Thursday through Sunday, showcasing handcrafted arts and crafts of more than 130 juried Vermont artisans. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $7 for a four-day pass. Children under 12 are free with an adult. Sunday admission is $4.

The event is one of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce's Top Ten Winter Events for 2009/2010 and an official event of Vermont Celebrates Champlain.

Learn to save energy
PLATTSBURGH — The next "Save Energy, Save Dollars" workshop by Peter Hagar of Cornell Cooperative Extension is tonight at Mooers Town Hall, with others scheduled at other Clinton County locations in coming weeks.

The free event explores many ways homeowners can reduce their energy bills through no-cost and low-cost methods. Every household attending will receive a bag of energy-saving products including caulk, weather stripping and gaskets to help reduce energy bills right away, a press release said.

The workshops are from 6 to 8 p.m. Others are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23, at the Altona Town Hall, 3124 Miner Farm Road, Altona; Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Dodge Library, 9 Route 348, West Chazy.

Registration is necessary to ensure enough materials. Call 561-7450.
