Wreath sale supports Carillon Club
TICONDEROGA — The Carillon Garden Club of Ticonderoga and Hague is taking orders for its annual holiday wreath sale.

A tradition for many years, the project has become the club's main source of revenue, enabling it to carry out its many activities and community beautification projects, a press release said.

The group is grateful to those who have purchased wreaths in the past and renewed their orders again this year, it said.

The wreaths, made locally, are available in 12-, 18- and 36-inch sizes; with a red or burgundy bow; or decorated by club members with cones, berries and bow. Prices start at $14. To order, call Wreath Chairperson Jackie Viestenz at 546-9855.

The order deadline is Wednesday with delivery starting Nov. 17, the release said.

The Garden Club is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, District IV. Meetings are held monthly, except in January and February, usually at 11 a.m. the third Thursday at the Hague Community Center on Route 8 in Hague. New members are welcome. Besides a business meeting and lunch, the group enjoys special programs related to gardening, conservation, floral design and more.

For more information, contact President Joyce Cooper at 585-2640.

Garden Club to aid SPCA
ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Westport Garden Club will sponsor "A Friend in Need" with the local SPCA after its 11 a.m. regular monthly meeting Thursday at the Hale House in Elizabethtown. Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch. Dessert and coffee will be served. The event is open to the public.

The event, with a suggested donation of $5, is part of the Lost Arts series that seeks to preserve such skills for the next generation and beyond.

Space is limited, so reserve a spot by calling Brill at 891-0182.
