to meet Monday

DANNEMORA -- The Saranac Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the District Office in Dannemora.

Some of the items on the agenda include the 2007-08 special education and school-lunch reports. A complete agenda is available at the District Office and on the Web site at www.saranac.org.

Willsboro School Board meeting Tuesday

WILLSBORO -- The Willsboro Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room.

On the agenda is personnel.

The meeting is open to the public.

Jay to hold special meeting

JAY -- The Town of Jay will hold a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Community Center in AuSable Forks.

This meeting will be to award the bids for the Upper Jay Water Project for new water lines for Route 9N north and south.

Canadian holiday may back up border traffic

CHAMPLAIN -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials advise travelers to be prepared for cross-border delays related to Quebec's two-week Construction Holiday, which runs from Sunday through Saturday, Aug. 2.

The news release said in addition to construction workers, it's been estimated one-quarter of the province's labor force take a vacation at the same time.
