BOMBAY — A Moira teen was charged with grand larceny Sunday.
At about 11:20 p.m., Cody E. Patnode, 17, was arrested for allegedly stealing a Utility Task Vehicle, according to a State Police news release.
State Police came upon the vehicle on the shoulder of Route 95 with it’s hazard lights on and a man standing next to it, however, when the trooper turned around and came back, the Utility Task Vehicle was gone, the release said.
The man identified himself as Patnode, who pretended he had no knowledge of the vehicle, but after further questioning he allegedly admitted to stealing it from Adirondack Power Sports on Route 37 in Malone on June 4 and then hiding it in a wooded area after the trooper drove by, the release said.
Patnode also allegedly revealed that he had stolen another utility vehicle Jan. 13 from Mountain View Equipment on Route 11 in Malone.
He was charged with two counts of third-degree grand larceny, a felony. He was arraigned in Bangor Town Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond, to reappear in Malone Town Court June 10.
