PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was injured when she was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning.
Regina Agoney, 58, told Plattsburgh City Police she was crossing Margaret Street walking in a crosswalk from the east side to the west side of the street near the Wong Kwon restaurant when she was struck by a 2012 Hyndai driven by Mary Shambo, 75, of Plattsburgh, City Police said.
Shambo told police she was stopped at a traffic light facing south and when the light turned green she proceeded and didn’t see a person in the crosswalk, police said.
Agoney told police she was already two-thirds of the way across the street at the time of the accident, police said.
Agoney complained of head and neck pain and was taken to CVPH Medical Center where she was treated and released.
Shambo was ticketed for failure to yield to the right of way of a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
