PLATTSBURGH — A Morrisonville man was arrested Jan. 8 on grand larceny charges.
Between the hours of 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30, 2012, Wayne M. Goddeau, 28, allegedly stole a high-end steal chainsaw valued at $1,109 from Dame’s Rental & Sales Center in the Town of Plattsburgh, according to the Plattsburgh-based State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
The incident was reported to State Police by the store’s manager on Nov. 1.
Police determined Goddeau was the thief through video surveillance and interviews, police said.
The chainsaw was not recovered, police said.
At the time of his arrest, Goddeau was in Clinton County Jail serving time for another offense, police said.
He was taken to the Plattsburgh-based Police barracks Jan. 8 and was arrested there and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000.
Goddeau was brought back to Clinton County Jail with his bail requirements increased to a $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond on top of the bail for the other incident, police said.
