NORTH ELBA — A Pennsylvania man was transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake after a three-car accident Dec. 26.
Shortly before 2:40 p.m., a car driven by Caldwell Lever, 29, of Toronto, Ontario, was stopped at a stop sign on John Brown Road facing north just past the intersection of Old Military Road, Ray Brook-based State Police said.
Lever allegedly failed to observe a vehicle traveling west on Old Military Road driven by Sanford L. Warter, 56, of Jay. Lever’s vehicle entered into the roadway into the lane of travel of Warter’s car, police said.
Warter was unable to avoid striking Lever’s vehicle. Lever’s car then traveled across Old Military Road and struck another car driven by Timothy K. Sullivan, 49, of Malvern, Penn., police said. Sullivan was facing south at a stop sign on John Brown Road, according to police.
Warter was taken to AMC Saranac Lake where he was treated and released with a headache, police said.
Lever and Sullivan were not injured in the accident.
