MALONE — A women faces felony charges for allegedly attempting to pass counterfeit money.
Malone Village Police reported Andrea Michigua, 23, of Savona was arrested Saturday afternoon. She is alleged to have passed counterfeit bills — for $100 and $50 — at Peebles department store in Malone.
Michigua was charged with two counts of possession of a forged instrument, a felony. She was arraigned in Malone Town Court before Justice Michael Lamitie and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 bond.
PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was arrested for felony forgery Sept. 10.
On July 1, a representative from St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh reported that two people, Ashley C. Parrott, 18, and Dustin Anderson, 26, both of Plattsburgh, requested assistance to buy bus tickets to Florida. The representative wrote them a check, but gave them two checks stuck together, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
Parrott allegedly wrote the second check out for $2,500 and was seen on video cashing the check at NBT Bank in Plattsburgh, police said.
Parrott and Anderson traveled to Jacksonville, Fl., but were located Sept. 10 at the residence of Sandra Grant, 26, of Dannemora. Parrott was arrested for grand larceny in the fourth degree and possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, both felonies. She was also charged with petit larceny and conspiracy, both misdemeanors, police said.
Anderson was charged with petit larceny and conspiracy, both misdemeanors. Grant was charged with hindering prosecution in the third degree, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child, and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, all misdemeanors, police said.
Parrott was sent to jail on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENTS
MORRISONVILLE — A Morrisonville woman was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh following a vehicle accident on Sept. 10.
Emily J. Vasquez, 18, was driving a 2005 gray Honda Civic southeast on Guide Board Road in Black Brook. Traveling over the wet road at about 3:33 p.m., she lost control of her vehicle, which exited the west side of the roadway and landed in a ditch.
asquez experienced minor neck pain, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
She was treated then released.
WESTPORT — A Westport man was injured in a one-car accident.
Vincent D Place, 22, was traveling south on Route 9N when the vehicle exited the western shoulder of the road, striking an embankment and overturning, coming to rest in the southbound lane, Lewis-based State Police said.
Place suffered injuries to his right shoulder and rib cage, and was transported to the Elizabethtown Hospital, police said.
Place was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
