PLATTSBURGH — A Chateaugay man faces multiple charges after he allegedly drove drunk.
Derrick Dupee, 20, was arrested on Margaret Street at 4:52 a.m. Sept. 8, according to a Plattsburgh City Police blotter entry.
Dupee was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle while under the influence and driving while intoxicated, both felonies because he was charged with DWI in the past 10 years. He also was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
Dupee was also ticketed for possessing damaged mufflers, speeding and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a vehicle.
Plattsburgh City Police Sgt. Ken Parkinson said Dupee was driving erratically before he was stopped by an officer patrolling on foot.
That officer approached Dupee and smelled the alcohol on his breath. As the officer walked to the back of the vehicle to get the license plate number, Dupee sped off, Parkinson said.
Shortly after, Dupee was stopped by another patrol car.
Then Dupee fled his vehicle on foot, Parkinson said, and was later stopped and arrested.
Dupee was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court.
No further information was available.
