PLATTSBURGH — The KFC restaurant in the City of Plattsburgh was damaged by fire Wednesday night.

At about 7:40 p.m., the City of Plattsburgh Fire Department and Plattsburgh City Police responded to the eatery for a report that initially came in as a mulch fire but then spread to the walls of the building.

Firefighters pulled siding off the building to extinguish embers in the walls.

The South Plattsburgh Fire Department responded with its air truck and more city firefighters were called to the Cornelia Street station for standby.

It appeared there was both interior and exterior damage to the building.
