NORTH HUDSON — A Lake George man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident here Saturday.
According to Lewis-based State Police, Raymond H. Kilmartin, 50, was driving southbound on the Exit 30 entrance ramp of Interstate 87 South just before 4:30 p.m. when the front of his vehicle struck the right rear of another vehicle, which was also heading south on the ramp.
Both vehicles, police said, pulled to the shoulder and stopped; however, Kilmartin then drove away.
The driver of the other vehicle called police and followed Kilmartin, who tried to evade the other driver by getting off the interstate at Exit 29 and going west on County Route 84, according to police.
Kilmartin was stopped by Blue Ridge/High Peaks State Police on County Route 84, approximately 10 miles from the accident site, and arrested at 5:05 p.m.
He was charged with three class E felonies, including first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .08 of one percent with a prior conviction and driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years.
Kilmartin is scheduled to appear in the Town of North Hudson Court on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
