MALONE — A two-car collision on Route 51 Feb. 7 sent four people to be evaluated Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for injuries related to the accident.
Richard Dafoe, 37, of Russell, was traveling north in a 2001 Subaru Legacy on Route 51 at a speed unsafe for road conditions and attempted but failed to slow down enough for an approaching curve, resulting in a collision with Michelle Grimshew, 33, of Malone, and her two passengers traveling southwest, according to State Police.
Upon being struck, Grimshew’s 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was sent into a snow embankment, police said.
Dafoe was ticketed for driving at an unsafe speed and failure to use a seat belt.
