BEEKMANTOWN — Police say a violent domestic dispute left a local man behind bars Monday night.
Plattsburgh-based State Police were called a disturbance at a private residence at about 8:30 p.m. after Michael A. Zindler allegedly struck his wife with a blunt object.
Zindler, 23, of West Chazy was subsequently arrested on charges of third-degree assault, aggravated contempt, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and assault with intent to cause injury with a weapon.
The victim was transported to CVPH Medical Center after the alleged attack. She was treated and later released.
Zindler remained behind bars at Clinton County Jail Tuesday night, unable to post $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
He will reappear in Beekmantown Town Court Wednesday.
