PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
On March 18, Plattsburgh City Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a male near an apartment complex on Margaret Street near Elm Street was fleeing the area.
Officers who responded saw a door to one of the apartments was open and that a portion of the door’s window was shattered, said City Police Lt. Scott Beebie.
Marquis Schofield, 20, had allegedly fled on foot toward Elm Street, Beebie said.
Officers located him on Champlain Street where he was arrested and later charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
Schofield was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and taken to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
