PLATTSBURGH — A fire at Bombardier caused $5,000 in damage, the Plattsburgh City Fire Department said.

“It was a faulty distiller in the hazmat room,&rdquo. Plattsburgh City Fire Department Lt. Scott Barshow said. “It was isolated to the machine.”

Six firefighters from City Fire were dispatched to Bombardier at 2:46 p.m., Barshow said.

“It (the fire) was under control in 4 minutes.”

City Fire’s platoon 1 was on standby and South Plattsburgh responded with an air truck.

The entire building was evacuated as part of Bombardier’s emergency action plan, Barshow said.

The Plattsburgh City Fire Department was back in service just before 4 p.m.
