---- — PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Aug. 2 with criminal possession of weapon and menacing.
At 1:16 a.m. Plattsburgh City Police received a complaint about a patron at the Naked Turtle in Plattsburgh who had displayed a knife, Plattsburgh City Police said.
When officers arrived, security staff explained the male had displayed a knife to them in a menacing manner and that he was in the parking lot, police said.
Irvin German Jr., 25, was allegedly uncooperative and “verbally combative” with officers and fled from them on foot toward Dock Street, police said.
Several officers pursued German and lost sight of him but later located him and arrested him, police said.
Witnesses identified German as the man who had displayed the knife, police said.
German was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
He was held without bail initially since police could not positively identify him, police said.
He is wanted by the Norwich, Conn., Police Department for a probation violation, police said.
Police confirmed the warrant and German is scheduled to be extradited to Connecticut, police said.
He was being held on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, but the bail may be revoked due to the warrant, police said.
