MORRISONVILLE — Two local people were hurt in an ATV accident Saturday afternoon.
Rose Rivers, 56, of Morrisonville, and Michael Kelley, 53, of AuSable Forks, were riding an ATV near Rivers’ home when the accident took place. State Police said Rivers, who was driving, reported a malfunction with the throttle, saying that it became stuck and the brakes did not work to stop the vehicle. The vehicle struck two trees.
Rivers and Kelley were transported to CVPH Medical Center by Morrisonville EMS. Rivers complained of head pain and Kelley of hip pain. Each was issued a ticket for operating an ATV without a helmet.
Kelley was treated for minor injuries and released Saturday night. Rivers signed herself out of care Saturday night, declining medical attention.
