BEEKMANTOWN — A Plattsburgh man was injured and charged with drunken driving following a one-car accident Thursday.
Shortly before 2:05 a.m., Taren J. Frechette, 21, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire northbound on Moffit Road in the Town of Beekmantown when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and his vehicle exited the eastern shoulder of the road, rolling multiple times before coming to rest on its roof on the western shoulder, State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said.
The Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department extricated Frechette from his vehicle and he was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, Fleishman said.
Frechette was charged Monday with misdemeanor drunken driving, she said, and was also ticketed for failure to keep right and moving from a lane unsafely.
Frechette is due to appear in Beekmantown Town Court on Oct. 16.
Further DWI charges are pending blood test results, Fleishman said.
