BEEKMANTOWN — Two people were injured in a car accident Saturday.
Marni L. Amell, 45, of Beekmantown, was driving north on Route 9 shortly before 5:58 p.m. She turned left onto Stratton Hill Road, crossed both lanes of traffic, went off the road and struck a tree, according to Chazy-based State Police.
Both airbags were deployed in the crash, according to police.
Amell and her passenger, Robert A. Leverette, 42, of West Chazy, sustained minor injuries and were transported to CVPH via two ambulances where they were treated and released.
Beekmantown Fire Department responded to the scene.
At CVPH, Amell submitted to sobriety blood tests and a DWI charge is pending should the tests show her blood-alcohol content was more than the legal limit at the time of the accident, police said.
