PLATTSBURGH — A two-car motor vehicle accident on Rugar Street on Thursday afternoon sent two people to CVPH Medical Center for treatment.
Plattsburgh City Police were called to the accident at the intersection of Rugar Street and Cogan Avenue at about 1:06 p.m. According to police, Rita Golden, 31, of Plattsburgh had been traveling east on Rugar Street in a 2003 Toyota Corolla when she slowed for traffic in front of her.
Golden’s vehicle was then struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Astro van operated by a 19-year-old West Chazy man.
Police did not have the full name of the second driver available, but identified him as M. VanValkenburg.
Both individuals were transported by emergency medical services to CVPH Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Golden was still being treated Thursday afternoon and no condition information was available for VanValkenburg.
VanValkenburg was ticketed for following too closely.
