PLATTSBURGH — Two Plattsburgh residents were arrested recently for allegedly stealing $10,000.
On March 15, a Plattsburgh man reported to Plattsburgh City Police that $10,000 in cash was missing from his residence, Plattsburgh City Police Lt. Scott Beebie said.
Officers determined that Matthew McKinley, 26, and Charlena Scroggins, 21, were responsible for the theft, Beebie said.
The two were arrested Thursday afternoon and they were each charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony; third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
McKinley and Scroggins were arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and sent to Clinton County Jail.
Scroggins was released from jail Monday after a court appearance and is due to reappear in court on April 17.
Mckinley remained in County Jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
He is due to reappear in court on April 10.
