---- — SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was arrested Feb. 13 for allegedly violating a condition of his sentencing.

Timothy Johnson, 27, was sentenced to criminal-court supervision after he was convicted of fifth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony.

Franklin County Court Judge Robert G. Main Jr. issued a warrant for Johnson’s arrest after “having reasonable cause to believe he violated a condition of his sentencing,” according to a press release from the Saranac Lake Police Department.

Saranac Lake Police found Johnson to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana upon his arrest.

He was issued an appearance ticket for the possession of marijuana charge and turned over to Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies for arraignment in Franklin County Court for the warrant, according to the release.

Johnson is due to appear in Franklin County Court at 1:30 p.m. March 18.

He was not incarcerated in Franklin County Jail as of Wednesday.

In December 2008, Johnson was charged with eight felonies: two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and two counts of fourth-degree conspiracy.

He was accused of illegally selling morphine to a police informant on at least two occasions.

Franklin County Court did not have record of the outcome of that case.
