SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged Thursday with driving while his ability was impaired.
Brian R. Todd, 37, was arrested following an investigation by Saranac Lake Police into a personal injury accident, the Saranac Lake Police Department said in a press release.
Todd was driving on Lake Street at about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday when he struck an unoccupied parked vehicle, Saranac Lake Police Chief Bruce Nason said.
Police determined that Todd was under the influence of prescription medication while he was driving, the release said.
Todd’s passenger, Alexandria Lafave, 24, of Lake Placid sustained minor injuries and was taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for treatment, Nason said.
Todd was released on an appearance ticket for Saranac Lake Village Court.
He was neither in the custody of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Friday, according to the departments.
