CHAZY — Two West Chazy sisters were charged in April in connection with an alleged check fraud incident.
According to Chazy-based State Police, three business checks were stolen March 29 from B&B Salvage in Chazy.
Casey J. Miller, 22, wrote one of the checks in her name for the amount of $250 and cashed it, police said.
Then Miller told police her sister Katelyn Miller, 20, had signed one of the checks, police said.
Katelyn was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and Casey was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, also a felony.
The sisters were arraigned in Champlain Town Court on April 11 and were released on their own recognizance to appear in court at a later date, police said.
