ELIZABETHTOWN — A Westport man was arrested Jan. 30 for allegedly driving drunk with his two daughters in the car.
Gordon P. Costin, 52, was stopped just before 5:30 p.m. for speeding on State Route 9N near its intersection with U.S. Route 9 in the Town of Elizabethtown, according to Lewis-based State Police.
His 4-year-old and 9-year-old daughters were in the vehicle with him, police said.
Costin failed sobriety tests and was charged with first-offense aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a felony; first-offense driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and a first-offense of operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.08 percent, a misdemeanor.
Costin was arraigned in Westport Town Court and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond, police said.
He was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30.
