HARRIETSTOWN — Two men were injured in a one-car accident Dec. 22.
Shortly before 11 p.m., Gordon A. Wells, 62, of Saranac Lake was driving west on State Route 86 just past the road’s intersection with Route 186 when he lost control of the vehicle on slushy, snow-covered roads, according to Ray Brook-based State Police.
The vehicle crossed the opposite lane of travel and left the road, striking two mailboxes and a large tree, police said.
Wells complained of chest, back and head pain after he was extricated from the vehicle by a Jaws of Life device, police said.
Transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake with him was Ralph A. Wells, 53, of Saranac Lake, who suffered crushing injuries to his legs and was also extricated from the vehicle, police said.
Gordon and Ralph’s health conditions were not available Tuesday.
