PLATTSBURGH — Two Plattsburgh men were charged with burglary.
A few minutes before 1:17 a.m. on Feb. 12, a 74-year-old man reported that he was in his bedroom at his home on Cubb Circle in the Town of Plattsburgh when he saw two men attempting to get into his house through the bathroom window, State Police said.
The man said the suspects had pulled a garbage can up to window and had broken the window while they were trying to pry it open, police said.
Police located Christopher A. Hoover, 26, who was traveling on foot, and charged him with second-degree burglary, a felony.
Hoover was arraigned and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Then on Feb. 27, Dennis J. Clukey, 23, was arrested for an alleged parole violation and was taken to County Jail, police said.
It was discovered that he was wanted in connection with the burglary and on March 4 he was arraigned and sent back to County Jail, police said.
On Monday, Hoover was arrested in the Town of Plattsburgh and was charged with another felony: first-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection, according to a State Police blotter entry.
