Police Log: March 26, 2014 — Felony arrest

MALONE — Three Plattsburgh residents were charged with grand larceny.

At 1 p.m. on Jan. 25, Wal-Mart in Malone reported that 14 Samsung tablets valued at more than $4,150 were stolen from a glass case in the electronics section of the store, State Police said.

Security footage showed two women and one man entering the store with one of the women opening the security case and taking out the tablets, placing them in a shopping cart and the other woman covering them with clothes, police said.

The two women then went to the toy section and placed the tablets in a red trash can and left the shopping cart behind, police said.

All three people left the store with the red trash can containing the electronics, police said.

Nina M. Duprey, 35; Travynn Ippolito, 25, and Brandy Young, 35, were arrested in Plattsburgh on Jan. 31 and charged for thefts committed at the Wal-Mart stores in Potsdam and Massena, police said.

They were arraigned and sent to the St. Lawrence County Jail.

Duprey was released from jail and was arrested again on Feb. 11 on the third-degree larceny charges from the Malone Wal-Mart. She was arraigned and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

Young and Ippolito were arrested March 12 on the Franklin County third-degree charges and were arraigned in Malone before being sent back to the St. Lawrence County Jail.

They are due back in Malone Town Court May 20.

Duprey’s next court date was not available Friday.
