BLACK BROOK — A Saranac Lake woman was injured Thursday in a one-car accident.
Shortly before 6:47 p.m., Jean D. Hardy, 88, was driving a 2006 Subaru Forester west on Route 3 in the Town of Black Brook when she drove off the north shoulder of the roadway, striking a utility pole, State Police said in a news release.
Hardy was initially taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for injuries to her lower body, police said, but was later air-lifted to Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. because her injuries were serious, police said.
She was listed in critical condition late Friday afternoon.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
